Free HRT

Free HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for eligible women will be available from Fortune’s Pharmacy from June 1st 2025.

To be eligible you either need to have a full medical card or a Drugs Payment Scheme (DPS) card.

If you are eligible for a DPS card but do not yet have one you should apply without delay online at www.mydps.ie

Other points to note –

All stages related to menopause are eligible including perimenopause, post menopause, premature menopause, early menopause and medically induced menopause.
You will need a valid prescription from your doctor (if you have a medical card but present a prescription from a private clinic you will need to have it rewritten by your GP).
We will ask you to confirm that the product prescribed is being used for HRT.
Only medicines on the HSE’s approved list are eligible.
If your prescribed medicine is in short supply we can discuss your options with you.
