Sumatran Relief tablets are used for the treatment of acute migraine attacks with or without aura. This includes migraine associated with periods in female patients. You can use it if you have previously received a clear diagnosis of migraine from your doctor.
Who can take this medicine
Sumatran Relief can be taken by male or female patients aged between 18 and 65 years who have had a previous diagnosis of migraine. You must have tried other simple painkillers first such as paracetamol or ibuprofen and found them not to be effective. There is a maximum recommended supply of 3 packs per month. If you experience 4 or more migraines a month we recommend that you arrange a check-up by your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should be seen by your doctor before using this product.
Each tablet contains Sumatriptan 50mg as the active medicine. Other ingredients are-
- ammonium methacrylate copolymer type A
- carmellose sodium (E466)
- microcrystalline cellulose (E450)
- crocarmellose sodium (E468)
- lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (E470b)
- grapefruit flavouring
- red iron oxide (E172)
- yellow iron oxide (E172).

How to take Sumatran Relief
Take one single dose as early as possible after symptoms appear. It will usually relieve symptoms within 30 minutes. Do NOT take a second dose for the same attack if the first dose doesn’t work. If symptoms come back again a second dose may be given within 24 hours of the first as long as you leave at least 2 hours between doses. Do not take more than 2 tablets in any 24 hours period.
Possible Side Effects
Sumatran Relief can cause drowsiness, dizziness and weakness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Please check with your doctor if you experience any chest pain or sensations, skin rash or difficulty breathing.
